Nicola and Paul King welcome you to The Eastbury
Our hotel is a traditional, privately owned hotel, where your individual requirements will be fully catered for.
The Eastbury is a fine example of an early Georgian residence. Typical of the period, it has graceful, light and spacious rooms which offer home-from-home comfort throughout. There is a wonderful relaxed atmosphere that immediately makes you feel at ease.
We are proud of the exceptional level of personal service, customer care and the food we offer. This is recognised by the English Tourism Council 'Silver Award', an accolade based purely on quality, and an exclusive award that few hotels in the country can boast. Our hotel is unique in the fact that although it is in the centre of town, it has one acre of walled garden and lawn behind it, giving it a "country house hotel" feel. We are also ideally situated in the quiet, lower part of Old Sherborne, within walking distance of the Abbey, the shops and the castles.
We hope you enjoy your stay at The Eastbury!
The Bedrooms
The twenty three bedrooms, named after traditional English flowers and trees, have been individually decorated and furnished. Each has its own bathroom, with bath and/or shower, television with a choice of terrestrial and satellite channels, radio and direct-dial telephone. Superior and Luxury rooms also have broadband through a wired connection.
All our rooms are non-smoking rooms.
Every room has a hair dryer, television with satelite channels, bathrobes, tea and coffee making facilities and mineral water.
The New Rooms
In May 2004, The Rt. Hon. Oliver Letwin MP opened 7 new rooms which are all more contemporary in style. These were created in a new building adjoining the hotel to the rear, and facing into the garden. These rooms are individual in design and feature solid oak skirtings and shoji sliding bathroom doors. They are more spacious and the bathrooms have under floor heating, wall mounted basins and WCs, seperate double ended baths and shower cubicles. The furniture is by Lloyd Loom of Spalding, the soft furnishings by Dodge Interiors of Sherborne and super kingsize double beds.
All these rooms also have the benefit of having broadband available. All these rooms are classed as Executive rooms except for Yew, which is a Luxury room and benefits from its own private Japanese garden and jacuzzi bath. |
